Hammerhead Dive Club Reef Ball Project at Chesapeake Light Tower

Reef Balls have been deployed... Eight Reef Balls have already been deployed on the approved artificial reef site less than 600 yards from the Chesapeake Light Tower! Thursday, April 25, 2002 the last four reef balls will be deployed. Congratulations & many thanks to Josh, with "Sea Search" for helping us with this wonderful contribution to the environment & to all our local divers!
Nandual Pungoteague Reef Ball Project Photos

This reef is located 3.3 NM ENE of the entrance to Pungoteague Creek. The center of this reef is marked with a yellow "VMRC" buoy designated "NP". There are two fields of 60 reef balls each located on the east and west side of the buoy.
Reef Ball Coalition 2000 & 2001 Virginia Projects

Reef Balls were deployed successfully in May 2000 in Virginia by the Reef Ball Coalition and an 8th grade school class.
On May 7th-11th 2001 Twelve 8th graders from Burley Middle School in Charlottesville Virginia ventured to Virginia Beach on a quest to create an artificial reef made of Reef Balls.

Sea Search of Virgina was formed in 1998 by Josh and Fran Loney, utilizing exsisting resources to improve the quality of Virginia's beaches and aquatic life. We entered into our latest project in aprill of 2002 manufacturing and deploying reefballs. With our vessel the Sea Search 1 we have deployed numerious reef balls into the Chesapeake Bay. We are an authorized reefball contractor for The Reef Ball Development Group, ltd.
Windmill Point Reef Ball Project

This reef is located 1.4 nautical miles north of Windmill Point Light. The center of the reef is marked with a yellow "VMRC" buoy designated "WP".
There are two fields of 60 reef balls each located on the east and west side of the buoy.
