Jerry Kinslow has been following the Reef Balls put down since 1998 at Minahasa and his photos show an incredible progression from new Reef Balls to a natural coral reef. These pictures prove that coral reef restoration is possible when water quality is good. This folder is highly recommended for browsing.
The Reef Balls contained abundant life, including juvenile batfish, yellow trumpet fish, razor fish, lionfish, scorpion fish, moray eel, cowries and a flounder. (House DIve off Manado Tua, the volcanic island next to Bunaken).
Yeimaya, This was taken at the Bunaken Marine Park in N Sulawesi, Indonesia. You will be happy to know that the reefs around Bunaken are a wonder of diversity and very healthy. On one dive site we saw were previously damaged coral was being restored using Eco-reef balls. The diving there truly was magnificent .
