Georgia DNR Reef Ball Project Photos
In May of 1995, the Georgia DNR ordered 500 Pallet Balls (tm) from Reef Ball. During production, the DNR increased its order by 10% for a total of 550 modules. Construction was completed in July and modules were deployed in early August. Forty additional Bay Balls (tm) were ordered for use in inland tidal areas and were deployed in September. 1200 more were added in 1999.
Coastal Reef Builders, Inc. deployed 120 Ultra Sized
Reef Balls to be installed in the coastal waters of the State of Georgia contract date June 2000.
Geothermal Energy Management was awared a State contract to build and deploy 1,200 Reef Ball in various location off the coast of the State of Georgia. Deployments are sceduled to be completed by December of 1999.
Geothermal Energy Management worked with managers of the Sante Cooper freshwater reserve to place 300+ Reef Balls in the system.
June 2205, in conjunction with Bob Martore, director of DNR's Artificial Reef Program, 100 concrete artificial reef balls were added to the reef, which is located 2½ miles southeast of the Little River jetties.
