Quearpos Reef Ball Community Fishery Enhancement Project
| Total images: 1
The Reef Ball Foundation and our local Costa Rican representives are working to create a community based project to enhance local bottom fishing opportunies to provide an alternative income to more ecologically unsustainable long line fisheries. As there has been a substainial loss of the nearshore fishery ecosystem due to water diversions that are causing the local estuary system to slowly fill up with soil thus loosing its aquatic values. Nearshore artificial reefs will help to replace the fishery habitat being lost.
