Damselfish Spawn on Reef Balls
Sergeant Major (Abudefduf saxatilis) spawned within 48 hours on every single Reef Ball placed at Cemetary Reef in 2005. Amazingly, Sergeant Major populations where much higher in our 2006 monitoring and they were STILL spawning a year later. These photos and videos document the events. There can be no better evidence of the productive effect that properly designed artificial reefs can play than documented and repeated spawning.
